WILMOT SOCCER Practice/Game
CANCELLATION
Policy and Procedures
- The decision to cancel or delay soccer for any time scheduled
(practice or game) prior to the start of a referred event is the
responsibility of the CONVENER of the level.
- The decision will be made by the convener at the field at the start time. Once
play has started, the referee (if present) is then responsible for
making decisions regarding cancellation for the duration of that game.
- Soccer will only be cancelled prior to the start time if the Township of Wilmot closes the fields. If
this happens, the soccer executive will be notified by the township by
3pm. This will allow news of the cancellation to the appropriate
conveners who can then email out to the appropriate coaches
- Rain will not result in the cancellation of soccer. Parents may choose to keep their player home because of wet or cold conditions at their own discretion.
- The presence of lightning and thunder will assessed by the convener at the field based on the “Lightning Policy” from the South-West Regional Soccer Association and can be found on our website www.wilmotsoccer.com
- The weather at this time of year is unpredictable and changes
quickly. Cancelled games may not be rescheduled due to restricted field
availability.
